About the event
400th Anniversary of the birth of Saint Oliver Plunkett.
Feast of All Saints - Saturday, 1st November 2025.
Saturday, the 1st November, marks the 400th anniversary of the birth of Saint Oliver Plunkett, born in the parish of Oldcastle in 1625.
To honour this historic occasion, a new reliquary has been crafted to enshrine the femur bone of Saint Oliver, currently held in Oldcastle Church. The reliquary will be blessed and sealed by Bishop Tom Deenihan and placed in the Altar of the Sacred Heart during a special Mass at 7pm.
Bishop Deenihan will be the principal celebrant, and Fr. Conor McDonough OP will preach the homily. The celebration will be enriched by the choristers from Mullingar Cathedral.
All are warmly invited to join us for this momentous celebration of faith, heritage, and the enduring legacy of Saint Oliver Plunkett - a witness to peace and reconciliation.
